Stone carving/letting courses in D15 studios,

Stone Sculpture Evening and Weekend courses in D15 Studios

If you would you like to try stone carving or letter carving for the first time, or are keen to develop your skills, stone sculptors Stephen Burke and Richard Healy are holding a weekend stone carving course and a six week evening course in D15 Studios, Castleknock, Dublin.
The weekend course takes place on Saturday September 1st and Sunday September 2nd from 9.30am 5.00pm  Course cost €200, deposit €100.
The evening course takes place on Monday Nights for 6 weeks beginning September 3rd from 6.30pm to 9.30pm  Course cost €200, deposit €100.
The course is suitable for all levels, including beginners.  Participants will be tutored on a one-to-one basis to support each person in realising their own project. Participants may be able to go away with a finished piece of work or with a sculpture that can be easily finished away from the studio. You may already have an idea of what you wish to carve. If you have no set ideas then that is fine; a suitable project can be set for you. Materials and tools will be provided, the only thing necessary to bring are steel capped safety boots.
D15 Studios is the workplace of several artists, working across a variety of media. This large, well-equipped studio space provides an enjoyable and creative environment in which to learn and develop stonecarving skills.

The Entrance is the first on the right after passing River road.
Its a tarmac entrance with stone pillars set in from the roadway and leads into the grounds of a big house.
Once through the gate take the lane to the left leading into a yard.
If you reach the golf course you've gone too far... turn around and its the second entrance.

Steel capped Safety Shoes or Boots
Online stores are often good value, for example
B&Q and Woodies have safety boots while most hardware and some shoe shops also provide them.

Lidl and Aldi often have safety shoes and boots in stock.
