Stephen Burke - Sculptor & architectural stone carver
Stephen has worked on many large-scale projectsthroughout Ireland and the UK, including contemporarypublic art commissions, restoration, private sculpture, memorials and lettering commissions.
Stephen studied fine art in Dublin and Cork before studying architectural stone carving at the City & Guilds of London Art School where he returns to teach from time to time. Stephen works from his studio in Dublin 15.
He has recently completed work for the Eleanor Cross monument at Charing Cross (see Irish Times article), and new work for the London High Street 2012 Marathon route.

Richard Healy is a Dublin born Artist. He studied at the National College of Art and Design, where he graduated in 2000 with an Honours Degree in Fine Art sculpture. Since leaving college Richard has worked primarily in stone. His work draws on inspiration from the natural world around him. His sculptures are currently on show at The Millcove Gallery. Richards' work is included in a number of private collections around Ireland and Europe. His piece 'Tripod' won first prize at the RDS craft show 2011, and is currently being exhibited around the country. Richard has also been recently commissioned by the OPW to create a number of works for a sensory garden at Aras an Uachtarain to be completed in September 2011.

These tools are on display in Leaveys monumental stone works in lanesborough Co Longford.
They belonged to the father and grandfather of Larry leavey (current stone carver).
They are over 100 years old and show that the basic principal of the tools remains pretty much the same today, apart from carbide tipped Steel and diamond blades of course.

TWISTER.This is the Twister grinding cup wheel. available in fine and medium grit.(medium grit) in the video.
The Twister has a resin insert which also contains diamond, this helps to give a smooth contact on the stone and stop the wheel from bouncing.
Available in fine and medium grits with an m14 thread to fit to most grinders or polishers.
